Join NCPC's Service User Advisory Group (SUAG)

What is SUAG?

This is a group of 8-10 service users and professionals who have interest and expertise in partnership working between professionals and service users, in the field of palliative and end of life care across many conditions and places of care.

What is involved?

This group meets quarterly in London although we offer flexibility in how people contribute (either by attending the meeting, or telephone conference). There are usually papers to read in advance of meetings, though we try to keep these to a minimum.

What does SUAG do?

SUAG has guided NCPC in ways of effectively involving the expertise of service users both within NCPC and in the field of palliative care/end of life care.

They have produced guidance on methods of involvement in the publication "Listening to Users". Details about the publication can be found by visiting clicking here.

They have also helped NCPC secure funding for a three year project designed to further develop user involvement activities within NCPC and share learning with professionals across the field of palliative care.

This group helps NCPC in the following ways:

  • Providing guidance in ways of effectively involving service users.
  • Sharing their own and their peers’ experience of palliative and end of life care.
  • Helping NCPC to identify organisational priorities and activities.

How do I find out more information and get involved?
