NEW – Dementia Module

Learning to Care Better - Folder Cover

NCPC’s Care to Learn End of Life Care Training Programme has been expanded with a brand new chapter on dementia.

As before, the module follows the pathway used in the End of Life Care Strategy, and combines practical advice and guidance with exercises exploring responses to difficult situations and helping to signpost access to further resources.

Please note this module builds on the skills and information built up through the eight core modules, and is not designed to be used on its own.

For further information or to order at a special discounted rate, contact Jenny Thurston on 020 7697 1520 or j.thurston@ncpc.org.uk

Learning to Care Better - Folder Cover NCPC has launched a major new training initiative: Care to Learn - The NCPC End of Life Care Training Programme. Evidence shows that delivering good end of life care can help you increase staff retention and job satisfaction as well as meet your regulatory requirements. Our training programme is a pack designed to be delivered in the workplace, in a flexible and practical format that fits your staff and organisational needs. This is a very cost-effective way of providing in-house training to introduce staff to end of life care without having to leave the workplace.

This programme is relevant to all staff caring for people at the end of life and in particular people working in care homes, housing organisations, other community settings and hospitals as well as people in hospices who deliver support and education to staff in other services.

Key benefits:

  • Delivers introductory end of life care training for staff in all settings
  • Offers eight modules that staff can complete in their own time and at their own pace, in groups or individually
  • Follows the End of Life Care Pathway, from Starting the Conversation through to Care after Death, including support for carers and the Mental Capacity Act
  • Written by NCPC’s acknowledged experts in the field: Lucy Sutton (Director of Policy Development) and Simon Chapman (Ethics Advisor)
  • Each pack contains a training booklet, work book and mentor’s guidance booklet, which are yours to keep within the workplace for future use
  • Discounts for multiple orders and subscribers
