Department of Health Strategic Partners Programme
NCPC is one of the Department of Health’s Third Sector Strategic Partners. Through this programme we work collaboratively and strategically with the Department and other voluntary sector organisations to improve health and social care in all settings.

- The Strategic Partners conference All change! - gearing up for the health and social care reforms took place on 21st November. The day was a great success, with a broad range of delegates from the voluntary and community sector exchange their views, concerns and good practice. The Care Services Minister Paul Burstow gave an address, including an extremely welcome announcement that the Strategic Partner programme would be extended into 2012-13. The Strategic Partners Programme has enabled us to engage with and influence the DH much more closely, and this is a welcome sign of its commitment to work with the voluntary sector on a long-term basis. You can download presentations from the conference here.
- We received a presentation at the 9th November Strategic Partners meeting from Rebecca Molyneux on the development of the long-term conditions outcomes strategy. NCPC highlighted the need to embed palliative and end of life care into the strategy, the final version of which is expected in October 2012. There will be an engagement period in early 2012: we will keep you up to date as the work progresses.
- NCB (National Children's Bureau) and NCVO have published a report that may be of interest to subscribers who deliver palliative care or support services to children and young people: The Ripple Effect: The nature and impact of the children and young people’s voluntary sector. You can download a copy for free here.
