National Survey of Specialist Palliative Care Workforce Findings 2005

See also: Workforce Survey 2007

Thank you to all who provided data for the first national survey of the specialist palliative care workforce carried out in 2005. The survey was carried out on behalf of the National Partnership Group for Palliative Care by the Workforce Sub-Group and went via the Cancer Network nurse directors to all providers of specialist palliative care in England. This has covered all 34 cancer Networks and all staff groups broken down into medical, nursing and all other staff who work in the multi disciplinary team.

The key national findings are presented here to give cancer network level information to networks and providers so they can draw comparisons between this and the national data. The survey and analysis have been carried out by Lucy Sutton, National Policy Lead, NCPC and Richard Harris, Information Analyst, Workforce Review Team. Any queries please contact Lucy on l.sutton@ncpc.org.uk.Please note that results are based on the data received and in some areas it may not portray the reality due to lack of data received.
