Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) Survey

There is a strong drive from government and also from recent research in patients with chronic respiratory diseases (CRD) such as COPD, that supportive and palliative care services should be extended to this patient group.

This survey is being undertaken by the Chronic Respiratory Disease Policy Group of the
National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) in collaboration with the British Thoracic Society and support from the Association of Palliative Medicine (APM).

The aim of the survey is to describe the current service provision in specialist palliative care
for people with chronic respiratory disease (CRD) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and
to explore the interface between palliative care, respiratory and rehabilitation services in
England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Two questionnaires have been developed in parallel (one for each of the specialties) to try to gather this information. We recognise that the last section in particular does require a bit of thought. We would ask you to complete as much as you can and where possible to discuss your response with your Multi-Disciplinary team.

Latest: The results of this survey are currently being analysed.
