Are you there?
24 November 2011
New publication from NCPC and Help the Hospices addresses specialist palliative care admissions criteria.
NCPC and Help the Hospices launched a new joint publication, Are you there? Reviewing specialist palliative care admissions criteria at the All Party Parliamentary Hospice & Palliative Care Group on 23rd November.
It aims to stimulate debate about the role and availability of specialist palliative care inpatient services and their relationship to other services. The document has been produced by NCPC's Cancer Group (which covers specialist palliative care as a whole as well as issues relating to care of people
with cancer in particular), chaired by NCPC trustee and Chief Executive of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, Kate Heaps.
The report shows that there needs to be greater clarity around admissions policies and that they should be easily accessible to all health and social care providers in a locality.
Are you there? is available for NCPC subscribers to read here in the Online Library. Non-subscribers can purchase the report here.
