Better Investment: Better Dying
Progress with Measurement and Collaborative Commissioning for End of Life Care
24th February 2010
Prospero House,
241 Borough High Street,
London SE1 1GA
This conference was an opportunity to explore the progress with measurement and collaborative commissioning of end of life care services. It drew upon NCPC’s work along with that of the National Audit Office and NHS National End of Life Care Programme to discuss both policy and implementation in this challenging field. It provided a forum to consider priorities from both benchmarking work and emerging practice. The conference supported commissioners to develop their understanding of palliative and end of life care needs and commission accordingly, and providers to reflect on how they can best develop their services in response to those needs. It showcased practical examples where effective commissioning has led to more cost effective services.
This conference:
- Provided an opportunity to hear from some of the leaders and experts in collaborative commissioning, measurement and end of life care
- Explored the importance of measurement and benchmarking from both commissioner and provider perspectives
- Presented some of the latest good practice through interactive masterclasses and panel discussion and enabled delegates to explore their priority areas
- Presented the results of the NCPC Survey on Funding for End of Life Care
