“Dementia is one of the biggest challenges we face today – and it is one that we as a society simply cannot afford to ignore any
longer.”

The Prime Minister, David Cameron MP

Why this conference?

In March 2012 the Prime Minister launched a national dementia challenge - a programme of work that aims to deliver major improvements in dementia care and research by 2015. With one in three people over 65 dying with dementia, if we are to rise to this challenge, we must ensure that all those with dementia and their families receive excellent end of life care.

This national event, organised in partnership between some of the leading organisations in dementia and end of life care, brings together the three key aspects of the dementia challenge:

• Improving health and social care
• Creating dementia-friendly communities
• Better research

Which will identify current challenges, and showcase existing good practice
.

This conference...

     - Launched a new DVD and other materials to support end of life and dementia care
