NCPC does not provide direct services to people who require palliative care, although it works with providers to try to ensure that palliative care is of the highest possible quality.

Experiences of people with a neurological condition of hospital

NCPC’s neurological conditions policy group are running a survey of the recent experiences of people with a long term neurological condition when they’re admitted to hospital. We want to understand more some of the things that help to ensure that people get joined up care in hospital. We will use the results to help inform the group’s future work and priorities. To ensure the results relate to current experience as much as possible, we would most welcome experiences from the last two years.

If you know of anyone who is unable to complete the online form, please contact policy@ncpc.org.uk and we will send a printed version. The closing date for the survey is 23rd October 2009. Thank you very much for your help.

A Guide to Involving patients, carers and the public in palliative care and end of life care services

NCPC and the NHS Centre for Involvement (NCI) have produced a guide, which explicitly looks at practical aspects of involving people in palliative and end of life issues. It is supplemented by a Practical Educational Tool (PET) to facilitate delivery of this material in an educational context.

Click here to download the Guide PDF Document (3.55MB).

The Practical Educational Tool can be downloaded with the links below:

If you or a family member needs palliative care, or if you just want more information, you will find useful links to other web sites by clicking here. Some of these organisations produce information for service users and families and others can help you to make contact with local services.
